1. Deck Overview

2. Positioning

The Guardian likes to start the game next to a nearby ally, usually always on the 2nd line. Defending from front force more movements from opponent, but The Guardian is as good from side.

When you first position your heroes, it is usually a good idea to place The Brute on line #2.

You must choose its position according to your strategy.

3. Opening Hand

Whenever you start, your first hand will likely be composed of 1 movement action card, 1 combat card and 2-3 Tricks.

You will adjust your position to face foes. You normally don’t want to move too much on your first turn.

It is usually better for The Guardian to go second.

You must not waste cards in useless way. It is normally okay not to do much on your turn

If you start with an Aura Card, such as THOUGHTS OF PROTECTION, it is usually a good plan to play it on your first turn.

4. Victory Conditions

  • Always try to get more cards. Playing THOUGHTS OF PROTECTION early is a must do.
  • Protect your allies from unwanted effects, such as poisons. Focus to offer maximum protection to others.
  • Bait can be extremely strong when timed properly. When forcing opponents to target this hero, all the other heroes can Rest.
  • Grind damages whenever you can, but not by weakening your defenses.
  • A well planned Dizziness will likely mean death to an unwary opponent.

5. Upgrading your deck

If you want to upgrade this deck, you might want to consider the following options:

  • CROWN OF THORNS – More cards means more defense, which is what you are looking for.
  • WISH – This card let you search for any card. As you rarely need the Refresh upside, getting the right Aura or a strong defense card is very powerful.
  • DESPAIR’S HIT – This card can finish unwary opponents. While you normally don’t attack much, a surprise attack can be handy.
