The Archivist has a lot of options to choose from. However, her lack of offense and defense make her very fragile. This support character will do a lot, when played with caution.

1. Deck Overview
2. Positioning
The Archivist mostly uses abilities with Radius 3, thus it’s good to maintain her at that distance from most opponents.
When you first position your heroes, it is usually a good idea to place The Archivist in cases B1 or E1.
Stay behind, but close enough.

3. Opening Hand
Whenever you start, your hand will likely be composed of 2 tricks, 1 aura and 2 actions with minor effects.
You always make sure to stay in range for the tricks you have ready and then focus on playing auras.
If you can take control of a hero with huge damage, such as the Brute, on the first turn with Psychic Control, this can be a very deadly opening.
4. Victory Conditions
- You must never run out of cards. Familiar and Thoughts of Prowess are must play card.
- As a support hero, you don’t have many win conditions. Make sure to focus on tricks that will protect your allies, such as Weakness and Negate.
- Don’t be afraid to use The Archivist as a blocker whenever needed. Her tricks are strong and she can buy a lot of time when needed.
- Adapt the situation. With Blinding Lights and Echoes of Fear you can manipulate the board at your advantage. Use it wisely.
- The Archivist is the hardest hero to master. Take your time and experiement her.
5. Upgrading your deck
If you want to upgrade this deck, you might want to consider the following options:
- BANISHING – An early Banishing puts a lot of pressure on the opponent, and in the late game can be a play and run win condition.
- SPECTRAL ASPECT – This card does everything you need to survive. It saves your Familiar, nullify damages effects and replace you where you need to be.
- INSPIRATION – If you can manage to gain Endurance somehow, this card will really get you far ahead.
