1. Deck Overview
2. Positioning
The more time the Fire Mage has, the better it becomes. However, in some situation it is good to have it push a few damages early. Against very aggressive opponents, stay close to combat and punish those who rush your allies. Against slower deck, stay away and grow strong.
Most of the time, you like to have the Fire Mage in A1 or F1. Yet, playing C1 or D1 and holding that Run Away in case is also a very good plan.

3. Opening Hand
With 50% of your cards being strong distance attacks, you’ll always have a strong attack in hand. You will likely complete it with 1 movement card and 1 aura or cantrip.
In most of the game, you want to get Focus out as soon as possible. Growing your attacks will become deadly real quick. If you have a weaker hand, doing New Plan on yourself to try and find Focus is a viable option.
It’s better to avoid your biggest attacks early. Keep that Lightning for when it will matter.
4. Victory Conditions
- Focus as soon as possible. Then, each card will get so much more value.
- Early, it is better to opt for spells like Ice Spike or even Fire Fist. Then, you keep your high end attacks, such a Lightning to finish the opponent.
- Keep an eye on your Endurance. Remember that many spells will require 1 or 2 Endurance points. Make sure each sacrifice is relevant.
- Most heroes are really bad at dealing with magical damages, push through as soons as they fatigue.
- Trying to force heroes to line up for Ray of Light or Ice Spike gets you a lot ahead.
- Run away to force opponent to waste their cards. Take all your time.
- Don’t bother trying to get close to opponent to get your static ability active. Take this as a bonus point whenever that happens.
5. Upgrading your deck
If you want to upgrade this deck, you might want to consider the following options:
- TWIN CAST – Getting to play 2 actions per turn means you can double the fun. If you manage to draw a few more cards, this card is a must.
- SPECTRAL ASPECT – This card does everything you need to survive. It saves your auras, nullify damages effects and replace you where you need to be.
- REGENERATION POTION – You never have enough Endurance and will last many turns. This card is a must in 2 copies.
